The rising star of Pink Is In fame, Lisa Crawford, finally made an appearance on the show and, for the first time, spoke candidly about her personal life and her journey to becoming a multidimensional entertainer. The producer, writer, and actress revisited her career trajectory in the entertainment industry, the pressure of stepping into multiple roles, absorbing the overwhelming fame, and achieving too much in a short period of time. Gracefully and professionally responding to the frequent criticism of starting too late, she firmly stated her faith and belief that there is a right time for everything. She added that since childhood, she has wanted to be part of creative entertainment through the medium of films.
Recalling the moment, which occurred rather spontaneously and really pushed her to decide to join the entertainment industry, she disclosed that it was the end of 2016 when she gained experience working in one of James Franco's films. Her role was limited to that of an extra, but it was powerful enough to rekindle her passion for being in front of and behind the camera. She decided to join an acting course.
Her official entry into the industry came within a month of joining an acting course. Her first role was playing a mute character, which allowed her to elaborate on expression-driven aspects of acting and helped her groom as an artist. The challenging role at the start of her career proved to be a great learning experience. Sharing about the independent entertainment space, Lisa admitted the uncertainty and risks of survival. She volunteered for many roles and worked on projects that were then shelved. 'It's a hard business; I have done a few films where I was paid nothing or little. Believe in yourself; believe in the project', she added.
Lisa's popular comedy series, set for a mega release in the United States, Pink Is In, has created much buzz among her fans. She revealed that the idea of creating a series was possible because of the experience she gained at the shoot of the top Netflix series Umbrella Academy. 'It's just one scene, but it opened many doors. I had become a union actor. I was with Caroline on the sets of New Eden when I first clicked on the idea of something like this,' Lisa added.

Pink Is In premiered in 2021 and is split into three seasons of four episodes each, the first of which will be released as one season in the United States. The series features her playing the role of Nezrenko.
Lisa and her team have partnered with Porter + Craig Film and Media for the digital release of the series. Currently streaming on Amazon Prime, it will soon be available on all leading digital platforms. A unique blend of comedy, prison, and pink, she is unafraid to experiment with genres and bring viewers something they have never seen. Lisa's creativity and willingness to take risks make Pink Is In a must-watch for anyone looking for a fresh and entertaining series.
The South African-born Canadian artist has produced many short films for television and prefers long-running projects. When asked to advise the upcoming generation of indie cinema, Lisa emphasized on consistency, hard work and positivity. She delineated this through her example of starting when her son was old enough to move out. She accepted that she had to pull off years of work on a clock with fewer errors, but her optimism paved the way for her. 'Keep knocking on the door; it will eventually open for you,' she concluded.
